This Town Needs Guns - 3 Songs! (indie/math rock)

This Town Needs Guns are a math rock band from the UK. The most immediately noticeable aspect of TTNG is Tim Collis' complex guitar work that dominates the instrumental nature of there music. Blistering, yet clean, subdued riffs swirl constantly around singer Stuart Smith, resulting in a sound something like an over-active version of Minus the Bear guitarist Dave Knudson The style keeps the songs feeling restless, and when combined with Smith's earnest tenor vocals, the effect is head-spinning and electrifying.

Im putting 3 tracks up for download. The first 2- '26 Is Dancier Than 4' and 'Want To Come Back To My Room And Listen To Belle And Sebastian' are off the 2007 split they did with cats and cats and cats. The 3rd one- 'Lemur' is off of there newest release 'Animals'.

Short Stories is a one man project from Hudson Valley, NY. His one and only album 'Currents' was released in 2007 on the pearly gates record label (Gregory and the Hawk, Boys and Girls Club). He is now a member of the electronic/indie outfit Populous.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Forever Heavy (psychedelic/indie)

A notoriously enigmatic band hailing from Pennsylvania, Black Moth Super Rainbow made waves on the indie circuit in the early 2000s with their brand of otherworldly, psychedelic indie pop.

Forever Heavy is the first track off BMSR's 2007 release "Dandelion Gum". Try an imagine a pile of controlled substances that somehow came to life and started making music. The album rings with cheery flutes, analog synths, vocoder-soaked vocals, and very strange sentiments.
